So Long Summer.........

This summer has just flown by! I can't believe it is already time for me to go back to work.  I can honestly say that I really dislike this time of year, but after a couple of weeks I am right back into the swing of things and right back to our school year routine.  So instead of watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and lounging around in our PJs, Jack and I will be out the door by 7:15 am every morning.
But I must say that I have definitely enjoyed spending some quality time with Jack once again this summer.  He has grown up so much since the beginning of summer, he is more like a little boy.   He has filled my summer days with pure delight (most days that is) Our normal daily routine consisted of Jack waking up around 8:00am, watching back to back episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, running a few errands or going to visit my grandma and then hitting up the pool by 11:00. And by 3:00 we were usually headed home for a late afternoon nap.  Now I am neither going to admit or deny to the fact that I probably also took part in the late afternoon nap myself from time to time. This is one thing I will definitely miss once school starts.
Jack's usual spot for eating breakfast while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Nick & I began our summer with a little vacation to Las Vegas.  We both just LOVE Las Vegas!!! We are already planning on going back next summer once Baby #2 is out of that newborn stage and we can convince the grandmas to watch both kids for a couple of days.  Then at the end of June it was off to Florida for Jack and I.  We flew down with my cousins Frankie and Rachel and met up with my mom and my Nana who were already down there for my uncle's wedding.

In July we took a couple weekend trips.  The first one was to Milwaukee for Festa Italiana for the day and then we spent the night in Lake Geneva.  Jack really enjoyed all the goodies at Festa Italiana and since our hotel in Lake Geneva had a balcony, he was absolutely in heaven.

We stopped by Miller Park for a few pictures on our way to Lake Geneva
And since Jack is absolutely obsessed with fans, we thought he would absolutely love to make a stop at a wind farm on our way home from Wisconsin. Since Nick works at the wind farms quite a bit, he knew just how to get up close to them so Jack could get a good look at one of those huge fans. He was in absolute awe of the wind mills, he kept pointing and looking up and saying "fan" "fan" "fan", like he was totally amazed at the huge fan that was before him.

The next weekend we made the 6 hour drive to Lake of the Ozarks to spend a little family time with Nick's side of the family at his parents house that they have down there.  They recently added a huge addition to the home, so it was rather spacious.  It was so hot and humid there, that we were only able to go out on the boat once.  So that left plenty of time for a little shopping at the outlet mall. Jack loved spending time with his cousins Logan and Brady, he absolutely idolizes them. It was a rather relaxing and enjoyable long weekend for all of us.
My mother in law calls the three boys, "her boys" so I thought the caption on the picture was fitting

Brady and Jack enjoying the iPad, we don't travel ANYWHERE without it.....and I mean ANYWHERE

Helping Papa drive the boat

I was a little nervous if Jack would like his first boat ride, but he totally shocked me because he absolutely loved it

It rocked him right to sleep, but of course he was wide awake once we got back to the house, so needless to say he went without a nap that day

Not too sure about joining his cousins in the lake

Paul & Marieda's house with the new addition, it is beautiful!!!!

Enjoying a little Dora the Explorer on the iPad with Mommy.....not the best angle for me
To break up the long drive home we thought it would be a good idea to stop in St. Louis for a bit to eat and to make a stop at the Arch.  I cannot even describe how hot and humid it was in St. Louis, but needless to say we really weren't able to spent too much time hanging out at the Arch.  But I was able to snap a few pictures before I felt like I was going to melt on the hot pavement.

Poor Nick had to chase Jack all around the Arch

And in between our little getaways we spent A LOT of time at the pool.  At the beginning of summer Jack was barely venturing out into the baby pool at LaSalle Pool, and by the end of July he was going off the diving board at Nick's aunt's pool with floaties on.  He has really grown into a little fish.  Most of these days were spent with my cousin Lesley and her girls Finley and Layton.  Both girls are so precious.  Jack and Finley are about 8 weeks apart, and little Layton (who we refer to as Tula) is about 7 1/2 months old and she is the most laid back and relaxed baby that I have ever met.  And thank goodness for that, because Jack and Finley definitely keep us jumping when we are at the pool. Here are some pictures from our adventures in swimming this summer.

The above pictures are from earlier in the summer, notice how Jack is usually on or near the steps of the pool

Claire joined us for some fun time at the pool this summer

Tula seemed to do a lot of this at the pool

Venturing out into the deep end with Aunt Kathy

So needless to say we will definitely be missing our good friend Summer at the Bazydlo house, but looking back we sure did enjoy all of the time that we had with our friends and family and we know that there will be more fun to be had next summer.
