8 Months Old (10-24-12)

This was a pretty busy month for Little Miss Teagan.  After we made her cry it out every night during the 4 day weekend for Columbus Day, Teagan has been sleeping through the night.....FINALLY!!!! That same weekend, she started crawling.  I don't think Jack is really going to be a fan of his sister being able to move around and get to all of his toys.  The first couple of days he definitely did his fair share of complaining, then he seemed to figure it out that he has to either hide his toys from his sister, or play with them somewhere that she can't get to.  Just a couple of days after she started crawling, Teagan's two bottom teeth popped through at the same time, no wonder she seemed uncomfortable, the poor thing was getting two teeth at the same time.  So that was a very busy and productive week for Teagan.

Pictures from the first day Teagan started crawling, she was already starting to annoy poor Jack......
Don't mind the way my kids are dressed, this was the weekend we attempted to potty train Jack, obviously not a successful attempt

I am on the move, look out

Teagan was the "Godzilla" of Jack's Fisher Price Little People community
Teagan continues to love her baby food, but she isn't a fan of the ones that have a couple of fruits or vegetables and oatmeal mixed together.  She is a fan of the one flavor foods.  We have started giving her water in a sippy cup, and she seems to do just fine with that.  Teagan is still in size 3 diapers and she is wearing 9 month clothes but she is starting to wear some of her 12 month outfits.
This was Teagan's after dinner routine for a week or so, she would literally fall asleep in her chair while she was eating, then wake up 30 minutes later, take a bath, and be ready to go to sleep again
Teagan has continued to sleep through the night.  Occasionally she will wake up and cry for a minute or two, but as soon as she finds her blanket and snuggles up with it, she usually puts herself back to sleep.  And since she has been sleeping through the night, she is nearly impossible to wake up in the morning.  Before when she was waking up during the night, she usually woke up around 6:00am on her own, now I am having to make multiple attemts at waking her up and it usually results in me taking her out of her crib while she is sleeping around 6:45.  Some days I am able to feed her before I take her to Linda's, and other days she just doesn't want to be messed with.

Teagan is still a sweet and enjoyable little sweetheart.  Teagan's eyes continue to stay blue, that is one of the first things that people comment on when they see Teagan or a picture of Teagan, just how blue her eyes are. I might be a little bit jealous because I always wanted blue eyes and I always wanted dimples, and obviously I wasn't blessed with either of those two things. Her biggest entertainment is still her brother, but she definitely seems to enjoy being around people. This past month it has become very apparent that she is 100% a Mommy's Girl, sometimes she gets upset if she doesn't see where I am or she won't fall asleep unless I am the one to put her into her crib.  I do not remember Jack being like that at all. But she can still turn that charm on with her Daddy when she needs to.  She is constantly watching and paying attention to what everyone else is doing and what is going on around her.  I think we have a little Nosey Rosey on our hands.  Teagan is still putting EVERYTHING in her mouth and she still LOVES her blankets.

Teagan made the cutest little pig for Halloween.  I know that she will definitely resent us for picking that costume, but we just couldn't resist, it was too darn cute.

7 Months Old (9-24-12)

So I am a little behind on posting about Teagan's monthly progress, so I am attempting to catch up.  I had started each monthly post at the correct times, but never got around to adding the pictures and finishing them up.

Our precious little Teagan is 7 months old!!!! My oh my.  Teagan has done a fantastic job of going to Linda's house while I go to work.  She seems to be pretty set in her schedule at Linda's house during the day, and from what it sounds like, she is taking two excellent naps for Linda.

Teagan is currently wearing Size 3 in diapers and 9 months in most of her clothes. Teagan still has beautiful blue eyes and two adorable dimples.

Teagan continues to love to eat her baby food.  She also loves the yogurt melts and Gerber puffs.  I have recently introduced the Mum Mums to her, and it is so cute how excited she gets when she sees that I am bringing one over to her highchair.

Teagan has not cut any teeth yet, but I definitely think that the bottom teeth will be making their debut very shortly.  Teagan was still a little wobbly with sitting up, so we were using the boppy pillow to help support her, and then this week she surprised us and sat up all by herself.  Now she is really able to observe everything that her brother is getting into, he definitely has her full attention at all times. Teagan really loves her jumper, the girl gets crazy in that thing.  And you can pretty much bet on the fact that she will fill her diaper with a nice little surprise for you after she has a good jumping session in her jumper. Teagan still LOVES her blankets, it just cracks me up when she burrows into them and rubs her face on one of them.

Teagan still keeps us guessing with sleeping through the night, but I still think that it is partly due to her teeth and partly due to it being a habit.  I have a long weekend off of work coming up, so I am planning on making her cry it out on those nights and hopefully getting her to sleep through the night once again.

We Love You Very Much Teagan

Jack's 3rd Birthday

I cannot believe that my little boy is already 3!!! I am a little late at posting this, because he actually turned 3 on September 24th.  This year we decided to go with a St. Louis Cardinals themed birthday party.  It is safe to say that Nick has successfully brainwashed our son to be a Cardinals fan.

Since Jack has more than enough toys, we thought that we would ask our guests to make a donation to Lily Rosploch rather than buying a present for Jack.  We attached a little note to all of the invitations.  We were very happy that we were able to raise and donate $400 to Lily and her family.  And don't worry about Jack, all of our guests still brought him presents, guess you can say he is a little spoiled.

Jack definitely had fun celebrating his birthday.  There were plenty of little ones to play with.  At one time I counted and I figured that we had about 10 kiddos under the age of 5 running around the house, definitely an action packed birthday party.

On Jack's actual birthday, Monday September 24th, Jack seemed a little tired and sluggish, but I thought it might just be from all of the fun and excitement that we had over the weekend.  But before we left the house, he told me his ear hurt, so I pretty much figured that he was coming down with something.  I checked in with Linda throughout the day, and Linda said he was a little sluggish and his appetite was a bit off.  I was hoping that he would stay healthy for his birthday celebration with the grandparents and Aunt Kathy that night at our house.  We thought it would be a great way to get rid of the leftovers from the party by having everyone over.  Before everyone got to our house, I found Jack fast asleep inside his coloring house.  We left him sleeping on the couch while everyone came over and ate, and he never even moved or woke up once.  He ran a fever that night, and by the next morning it was 101.6, YIKES!!! Thank goodness we were able to get in to see Dr. Leifheit that day, poor Jack had an ear infection.

I was pretty nervous because the fever was really high, and I had to alternate giving him motrin and tylenol to keep it under control.  Then he ran a low grade fever off and on for two days after that.  Finally after a couple of days, Jack was back to 100%.

Happy 3rd Birthday to the most wonderful, delightful, happy and smiley little boy that anyone could ever ask for.  We Love You Jack and we can't wait to see what adventures and fun the next year has in store for you.
